Obituary of Dr. Rev. Benjamin Perez

Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Jesus Perez and Poligena Santiago, November 14th ,1939. Dr. Rev. Benjamin Perez came to New York from Puerto Rico in his late teens. In 1960, Dr. Benjamin Perez relocated to Chicago, Illinois and met the mother of his 4 children. God found him there and called him to missions. In deed, God had a special purpose, a special assignment was given. A desire to seek and learn God's word, was placed in his heart, becoming more involved in biblical studies. In 1975, he received his first assignment to missions in the country of Guatemala that was struck by a major earthquake. There he founded 5 churches. He remained there for 7 years. In 2002, Dr. Benjamin Perez married Teresa who devoted her life in supporting her husband and becoming missionaries in the Dominican Republic. Their assignment was in the mountains near Haiti for several years as they provided food, shelter and teaching God's word. They planted 2 churches there. Dr. Benjamin Perez served in the mission fields for 45 years. Dr. Rev. Benjamin received his Doctorate in Theology at the age of 82 from Life Christian University. This was his passion, to understand, teach and reach the lost for God's glory through the teaching and preaching of God's word. He would say, "You are never too old to keep learning God's word". Dr. Benjamin Perez served the Lord until his last breath on earth. Dr. Rev. Benjamin went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24th, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his Loving Wife, Teresa, Children: Benjamin Jr. (Jenny), Jose Sr. (Millie), David (Rochelle), Debora (Ismael), and Jose Jr. 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who he adored.
