Rosemary (Ullmar) Gebhardt, 77, of Spring Hill, Fla., and formerly of Tolland, beloved wife of Roy Gebhardt, passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on their 58th wedding anniversary, Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Born in Manchester, the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline (Beccio) Ullmar, she lived in Tolland for over 30 years before moving to Spring Hill, Fla., 17 years ago. Prior to her retirement in 1991, Rosemary worked at the University of Connecticut for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Rosemary was loved by everyone. She enjoyed tending to the flowers in her garden and the trips to the casino. She would start everyday with her crossword puzzle. In addition to her husband, Rosemary is survived by her children, Nancy Kalagher, and her husband, Milton Labecki, of Tolland, Roy R. Gebhardt, and his wife, Debra, of Tolland, Donna Sespaniak of Florida, and Patricia Sigmund, and her husband, Joel, of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Katie Kalagher-Ryan, and her husband, Patrick, Rebecca Kalagher, Lisa and Amber Gebhardt, Emily and Ellen Sespaniak, and Jeffrey and Connor Sigmund; four great-grandchildren, Griffin, Eliot, Penelope, and Oona Ryan; and many dear nieces, nephews, and longtime friends in Connecticut as well as Florida. She was also predeceased by her sister, Jeannette Ames. Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, from 10 to noon at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon, followed by a service at the funeral home beginning at noon. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Vernon.
