Numerous cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and friends and strangers that became friends along the way. Bennie was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 26, 1953. Bennie was a master Woodworker, craftsman, wood surgeon, artist, and custom stair builder. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, or anything that made him smile and fed his spirit. He loved his Country. Bennie’s faith was strong, he was an armor bearer for his church, a prayer warrior to all in need, storyteller to all his children down to his grandchildren, his voices and narrating are legendary. From Sunday dinners to canoe trips he always enjoyed a family adventure and wind therapy on his Harley. His strength and smile were contagious. Bennie was spontaneous and classy he would bring flowers on any day to make Kathy smile and know she was loved, he even on his last days continued to tell her how much she meant to him and how beautiful she is. He showed his daughters what to expect from a man. He worked from Sunrise to Sunset to provide for us. We all waited for him to get home to sit down to a family dinner, if you called during our Family dinner time you got the wrath!! If the street lights came on and you heard him call you would run home fast. He taught his sons to fish, play ball, build bike ramps, how to treat and try to understand women, how to stand up for what we believe in and ourselves and most of all he taught us all how to stand strong on our Faith and become amazing adults to be proud of. His hugs and soft voice would heal your heartache and ease your mind. Someone so amazing that touched so many souls will forever be in our hearts. You have been an amazing husband, Father Grandfather, and friend. Thank you for creating our Family. His love and legacy will live on in all of us. Rest Easy. I could write a thousand words, in a thousand different ways but words could never describe how amazing Papa truly was. His strength and spirit will stretch for generations. - Joey His cooking was something words can’t describe. Every meal he cooked or grilled it always had an amazing taste to it like no other. He always had something with us kids; a lot of nights we would sit at the dinner table, have the famous cookies and milk with papa, he taught us all how to dunk Oreos. -Devan Grandpa had an endless love for our whole family. From the little things to the big things, from special occasions to normal weekends together, he was always so happy to have the family together. He would sit and eat Oreos with milk after dinner when everyone was about to go to sleep for a little late-night snack. He would pray over every meal we all had together. Every chance he got he would remind me how “beautiful” I am and how much he loved my smile, so he could see my eyes light up. His hugs were so pure and genuine. He’d kiss our foreheads and cheeks and hug us every time we crossed paths. He was an amazing Grandpa and I couldn’t have asked for better -Aliana We loved when Papa would read us our stories- Amelia and Little Bennie I loved our high fives and listening to our seashell – Atticus
