Obituary of Philip Nelson Comeau

Philip Nelson Comeau, 77, passed away on March 1, 2021 at Oak Hill Hospital in Spring Hill. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts on November 20, 1943 to his parents, Felix J. and Geraldine M. (Robicheau) Comeau. He grew up in Medford and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1964, serving as an Aviation Machinist Mate until his retirement as a Chief Petty Officer in 1988. His duty stations included Naval Air Station (NAS) Whidbey Island, WA, NAS South Weymouth, MA, U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay and NAS Cubi Point, Philippines, NAS Corpus Christi, TX, and NAS Patuxent River, MD, where he served as a C-130 Flight Engineer at VQ-4, forming strong and lasting bonds with those in the TACAMO community. In 1989, he began his second career with Boeing in Renton, Washington, supporting the E-6 Program working Flight Line Quality Assurance, Customer Training and then as the Boeing Field Service Representative at Raytheon in Waco, TX. Prior to his retirement from Boeing in 2000, he also supported F-22 Customer Training. He spent his retirement years in Spring Hill, Florida and was active in a local Corvette Club, where he was able to celebrate his more than four-decade long love of Corvettes. Philip took pleasure in the warmth and sunshine of Florida, as well as weekly rounds of golf with friends. Philip is survived by a brother, David F. Comeau of Norristown, PA; his children, Laura L. Comeau-Stanley of Solomons, MD, Cheryl A. Comeau of Spring Hill, FL, and Christopher P. Comeau of Jacksonville, FL; his grandchildren, Robert W. Bazo, Jr. of Missoula, MT and Brianna L. Wallace of Spring Hill, FL; nieces Kerry Eggers and Nancy Hoffman, and nephew Kevin Cunningham. Philip was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Emily Cunningham. There is no funeral or memorial services planned at this time.
