John & Janet H
Lou and John first met at Leader lanes and became fast friends. If not mistaken, Lou had just finished his military in Korea. He told me how he had gotten frostbite over there, and at times really bothered him. If not mistaken, he met his wife Linda (RIP 2012=64) at Ave M Bowl. They bought a house in Carteret, NJ and prior to that, had never owned a car. He was a book binder by trade.
We often went where the bowling action was, Ave M and Cental Lanes to name a few. Lou was a superior bowler, and able to hold his own against most. One of his favorite places was Louisiana Lanes, not far from where he lived in Brooklyn, NY. While there, Lou introduced me to Deacon & Fats who were excellent bowlers. We shared many good times before my military service and after, but too many to list here.
In 1969 while in Vietnam, Lou sent me a letter, including a copy of the "Kegler Bowling Club" newspaper. In it was Lou's picture holding a Bowling Trophy he won in that club's inaugural event.
Even after we moved to FL, Lou and I kept in touch, and he visited us twice, and finally moved to FL, 1 county north of us. Lou would join a Trio scratch league with myself and Hank Behrbom. Lou would often practice with me at Lane Glo North. Unfortunately, Lou's bowling ability was far from what it once was.
In 11/2014, I retired from bowling, and have not stepped inside a bowling lane since. Unfortunately, that was around the time I had any contact with Lou, though Janet would send him Xmas cards.
I found of his passing while doing a search on the internet, the morning after Xmas. His passing has me depressed, but know he's in a better place, and with his wife and sister. RIP Good Buddy!

Always looked up to you as my eldest cousin who was an avid baseball fan, player, professional bowler and served in the United States Army. We shared in that Military brotherhood having both served during the Vietnam and Cold War's.
It was only this past summer that I enjoyed reminiscing with you about the letters you wrote to my parents and I while you were overseas. My Mom had saved them and you were thrilled that I still had them.
I also enjoyed reminiscing about the story my Dad always told me, of when you were playing baseball at Grandma's house, and I think you hit a homer through one of Grandma's windows. My Dad fixed it, and jokingly said, "go ahead, see if you can do it again"... and you did. What a fun memory !
Now back to reality... It was unexpected that you left so soon. You will certainly be missed by your family, friend's acquaintance's, and I'll miss reminiscing with you. You are at peace and with your loving family, Linda and sister Marie.
Rest In Peace,
Cousin, Mike Ferraro

Lou was a gentile and extremely kind person. He was an avid bowler, and extremely good card player.
He always said "living in Florida was a vacation every day!" In his youth a good pitcher and the Yankees wanted him. Lou loved eating out. He will not only missed by me but all the lives he touched. My sincere condolences to the entire Spadaro family.
