John Benhoff's Family, I am so sorry to hear of John passing. He was my boss at St. Louis County Government. John was a very knowledgeable about the Mechanical Section Division. He was the go to person if you had a question about the Mechanical Code.
I had a lot of respect for him, because he took his job to heart. Sending prayers to the family.

John loved Mary and family with all his heart. I remember John insisting he and Mary pick me up driving 5 hours round trip so I wouldn't miss Easter dinner with them when I had car trouble. That's the kind of man he was.

Scott and I were lucky to know John in the last five years. Scott and John had a fun time going to concerts, and many events. As this picture reflects we had many silly times. Our prayers go to his family at this difficult time. Scott and Diane Boehning

Mary & Family, We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing, When I first started at St, Louis Co, many years ago, John helped me so much to get started. His knowledge of the job and codes were amazing. As we worked together, with his ability to see the lighter side in so many things, I feel we became friends. I missed John when he retired, but was glad you were happy down in Florida. Marilyn and I wish you and yours the very best and you are in our prayers, Randy & Marilyn

John might have come across as gruff be he really was a funny good spirited guy. He knew his stuff when it came to the rules in the Mechanical Department. He was the guy you went to when you didn't know something. Most of the time he didn't need to look up anything. We missed John the last 5 years and I'm sure his family and other loved ones will miss him now. I had great respect for John.

I am sadden by John's passing and my deepest sympathy to his family.
The one thing I most remember of John, is how hard he was in his work, but yet how so soft he was when it came to his family and his beloved dogs. Also his love for camping and the south. Retiring and moving to Florida, had to have been one of his best enjoyments.
John made a mark in this world and will be missed by many.

My deepest condolences to Mary, and the girls, he never hid how much he cared for you all.
John was the closest thing I had to a mentor, I’m not sure I ever lived up to his standard, and sometimes I could swear he hated me. One thing I never doubted, is if I ever needed for anything, work related or otherwise, he would always be there. He is missed
